Students participate in private therapy, group therapy and discussion, structured classes, community service, and hands-on integration of healthy life skills. In addition, students are offered weekly private fitness and nutrition sessions to ensure that they have a clear plan of how to take care of themselves at home.

The mission of Embrace is to empower young women to live healthy and valued lives through active and committed transformation.

Embrace’s campus  is separated from social pressures and distractions. Nestled in the beauty of western North Carolina, our students find peace and serenity. Students attend Embrace because they want to grow. Along with an inviting campus, we offer an environment full of support. Whether through morning and evening community discussions and events or the ability to navigate tricky group dynamics alongside your therapist, we maintain a healthy environment for our students to focus on themselves. The program does not allow disrespect. The Embrace culture and environment is highlighted by respect, integrity, compassion, and personal growth through interpersonal relationship support.

The 12-acre campus consists of untouched forests, walking trails, a kitchen, dining area, bedrooms and living spaces, apartments, a sun deck, balconies with expansive mountain views, a community room, yoga yurt, and a gym space. We limit the amount of students to keep the program small and to allow for individual attention.

The location is separated from social pressures and distractions. Here in the mountains, we enjoy the favorable weather for much of the year. For that reason, several of our classes and activities are designed to create a choice for outdoor experience.

We are lucky to be located in the land of waterfalls. Living in a temperate rainforest means that the summers are much cooler and less humid than what you may expect. Don’t let the word rainforest scare you,  the rain is predictable and our schedules are designed to accommodate weather changes. We do see low temperatures and occasional snow during the winter, but the season is relatively short. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 28°F to 83°F and is rarely below 15°F or above 89°F.

Embrace is located at 925 Pine Shore Drive, Brevard, NC 28712, one hour from Asheville, on a serene campus. Our unique location enables a full array of breathtaking outdoor activities nearly year-round.

There is so much pressure for young adults to know their passion. At Embrace, we teach students how to plan the vision for their future. Through specific life skill classes we navigate hobbies, community involvement, college and career readiness to ensure that our students move forward on a path that is true to them. Throughout the program, there are countless opportunities to establish intention and purpose in independence. When students return to everyday life, they are able to stay focused.

The use of technology has many emotional effects. While we understand that life outside of Embrace may require frequent use of technology, we want to provide students with an opportunity to find balance in their technology use. For this reason, we  have purposefully created Embrace to incorporate as little technology as possible. This allows for more time for students to connect to themselves and the community without any distractions

Our clinical team works with Embrace families to address family dynamics during weekly parent coaching calls. Embrace parents learn skills and strategies for parenting a young adult with social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. Embrace therapists facilitate family therapy during the parent program, where families come together to build credibility within their relationships and solidify strategies to support the therapeutic gains the student makes during their stay at Embrace.

We take pride in our diverse group of students because much like life, this allows for unique connections with each community member that supports the belief that we are all on our own journey. Some students struggle with anxiety and depression, some have started college but have not been able to complete their coursework for various reasons. Some never started college, and others have graduated but have not been able to launch into a career path. No matter the situation, students and Embrace team members work together in a nurturing environment to build healthy relationships and support one another.

Students attend Embrace because they want to grow. Our program empowers students to use their voice to advocate for wants and needs, whether those interactions take place at Embrace or in the future. We take pride in our community as we have curated a unique, non-judgmental space, where students feel safe to do their work. Students learn and practice  skills such as assertive communication, giving and receiving feedback, and addressing and resolving conflict to support relationships.

Embrace is not a boot camp, nor is it detention or punishment. The program is safe and supportive. If you are at Embrace, it is because you want to be here.
