Elyssa is a Registered Dietitian whose passion is to help empower individuals to live a balanced and sustainable life. Through education, resources and support she strives to provide others to discover the critical connection between life and body through food. Elyssa’s experience extends to working with individuals battling eating disorders as well as working with a wide variety of complex disease states in a hospital setting.
Elyssa’s own life experiences as a collegiate volleyball player at Western Carolina University while battling disordered eating behaviors are what compelled her to pursue an undergraduate degree in nutrition and dietetics in addition to a master’s degree in health science. The combination of personal experience and professional exposure to a wide variety of patients is what has propelled her passion to see that all people discover the true beauty of a balanced life with food and exercise.
In her spare time, Elyssa enjoys spending time with her husband and their pup. Together they enjoy strength training and Olympic weightlifting as well as experiencing all that Western North Carolina has to offer through the beautiful hikes, lakes and waterfalls.
Elyssa says: “I am excited to help students of Skyterra Embrace on their journey as they learn about the value of food and nutrition in their lives. I’m also excited to help them discover what sustainable behavior change and balance looks like.”
